Morganville Banking System: Each student in Morganville holds an account with The Morganville National Bank and has his or her own checkbook. Students receive monthly bills in their mailboxes. These bills include: rent, water usage, electric, and renter's insurance. The boys and girls earn a weekly income based upon how well he or she performs in the classroom. If a student turns in all homework on time, behaves appropriately, and does his or her best then that student earns $500/week which is direct deposited into his or her account. The students learn how to budget their money because unexpected bills may pop up at any time. Money that is left after bills have been paid can be spent at Morganville auctions! The banking system teaches students financial responsibility as well as the importance of work ethic. The harder the students work the more money they earn. A BIG "thanks" goes out to Mrs. Toni Little at the First State Bank of Tuscola for taking the time to create an actual checkbook for each of my students. In addition, "thank you" to the First State Bank of Tuscola for donating these checkbooks.
